DESCRIPTION:We’re hosting our annual SHASBAH Summer Party this Saturday 2nd August! We’re looking forward to seeing as many of our members\, supporters and community as possible for a fun day out. Come along and enjoy the day with our community of people living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. \nThe venue is the beautiful Clifton Park in Rotherham. We’ll bring the summer fun with a free ride at the fair for every child. There’s also a splash park and a changing area with two spaces is on site\, so bring along a towel and swimming costume if your child wants to play there on the day. Bring your own picnic lunch. \n\nA huge thank you to Cannon Hall Farm who have kindly donated 4 entrance tickets for our raffle. If you’d like to enter\, please make sure you bring cash. SUMMARY:South Yorkshire Canal Boat Trip
DESCRIPTION:Exciting times ahoy! This is your chance to go on an accessible canal boat trip with SHASBAH on the Pearl Barge. It’s such a fun and unique way to see South Yorkshire and get together with other people. \nFamily members and support workers are more than welcome to join in. There is no cost for SHASBAH members and their loved ones to come on a Pearl Barge trip. Contact Nina on 07752665411 to book your place. There is a limit of 12 guests on the boat\, so it’s first come\, first served. \nOur day out will start at Stanilands Marina in Doncaster\, then we’ll head on an adventure through the beautiful canals of South Yorkshire. Bring a packed lunch with you. Refreshments will be provided. Trained volunteers skipper the Pearl Barge\, who have experience working with a diverse range of needs. There are lifts at the front and rear for accessing the canal boat\, as well as accessible toilets on board.

DESCRIPTION:*Please note this event is now full. See below for a link to the waiting list* \nWe’re hosting a residential trip to Bendrigg for our members aged 8–25 this coming October. This is a fantastic opportunity for our younger members with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus to experience adventure and activities fully supported by the expert team and facilities at Bendrigg. So\, come and join us for a wheelchair accessible weekend of unforgettable experiences! \nAbout Bendrigg \n‘You might be told on a regular basis what you can’t do when you have a disability\, but we’re here to tell (and show) you what you can do.’  Bendrigg \nBendrigg is beautifully situated between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks\, with access to stunning lakes\, rivers\, crags\, fells and caves. This fantastic organisation has over 45 years of experience providing outdoor adventure activities for people with disabilities\, both on and off site\, and we’re thrilled to be working with them. \nDuring your stay\, accessible minibuses mean you can experience activities such as canoeing\, caving\, climbing\, gorge walking\, fell walking\, night hikes and local visits. On site\, there’s an indoor cave system\, orienteering\, abseiling\, cycling\, campfire\, bushcraft\, star gazing\, zip wire\, tube slide\, sensory room and swing\, disco\, and art and crafts.  \nDates and cost \nDates: Two nights from Friday 31st October (arriving by 4pm) to Sunday 2nd November (leaving at 3pm).  \nCost: £60 per person (payment to be organised through our Director of Services\, Nina Rose\, after booking). \nIncluded  \nAll food and pre-booked activities are included. We will confirm the booked activities taking place during the stay closer to the time. \nThe on-site facilities are fully wheelchair accessible\, including accessible showers\, toilets and electric beds.  \nUnder 18s and care support \nUnder-18’s will need to be accompanied by an adult\, and anyone requiring care support will need to bring a carer along.  \nBook your place \nSpaces are currently full for this event. DESCRIPTION:SHASBAH is hosting a special art exhibition just in time for Valentine’s Day!  \n‘For the Love’ will be open to the public to view the work of local Sheffield artist\, Paul Bishop\, from Thursday 5th February to Thursday 19th February at The Circle\, Rockingham Lane\, Sheffield.  A ‘Meet the Artist’ Q and A buffet will be held on Friday 13th February 12:30-4pm with a visit from the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Councillor Safiya Saeed. \nPaul Bishop is a local Sheffield artist who uses acrylics and watercolour to explore a range of themes across local and cultural history spanning iconic Sheffield scenes past and present\, cultural icons and World War. \nArt Fundraiser \nAll original framed and unframed paintings will be available to buy\, as well as gift card packs.
