DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 24th July\, we will be hosting our Digging Deeper Celebration at Burton Street Foundation in Hillsborough\, Sheffield. We have had a wonderful time hosting Digging Deeper youth group this year\, and we would love all our members aged 8-25 to come along and join us for a party to celebrate ALL our SHASBAH youth members!  \nDigging Deeper launched this April\, bringing together young people aged 8-25 along with their parent/carers for connection and fun through gardening and exploring nature to sensory elements and arts and crafts. \nEvent cost: Free \nOpen to all our youth members aged 8-25\, siblings aged 8-25\, and parents/carers. Please do come and join us even if you have not joined the Digging Deeper youth group so far! \nFood and refreshments will include pizza\, salad\, cakes and icecream.\n\nDo let us know if you would like to join by completing the booking form for catering purposes. We’ll bring the summer fun with a free ride at the fair for every child. SUMMARY:Table Tennis Club
DESCRIPTION:Our SHASBAH Table Tennis Club is every Monday from 2pm to 4pm at Kelham Island Table Tennis Club. Open to SHASBAH members of all ages and abilities\, you can bring a friend\, relative or support worker and dip in and out of the session as much as you like. Games will be adapted for any ability\, so we can all have fun! \n\nKelham Island Table Tennis Club is situated next to Kelham Island Museum. Founders Simon Athey and Liam Bardell launched the club in 2023 from a room at the café owned by Liam at Kelham Island Museum\, having previously hosted games and competitions with their friends in the space. DESCRIPTION:*Please note this event is now full. See below for a link to the waiting list* \nWe’re hosting a residential trip to Bendrigg for our members aged 8–25 this coming October. This is a fantastic opportunity for our younger members with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus to experience adventure and activities fully supported by the expert team and facilities at Bendrigg. So\, come and join us for a wheelchair accessible weekend of unforgettable experiences! \nAbout Bendrigg \n‘You might be told on a regular basis what you can’t do when you have a disability\, but we’re here to tell (and show) you what you can do.’  Bendrigg \nBendrigg is beautifully situated between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks\, with access to stunning lakes\, rivers\, crags\, fells and caves. This fantastic organisation has over 45 years of experience providing outdoor adventure activities for people with disabilities\, both on and off site\, and we’re thrilled to be working with them. \nDuring your stay\, accessible minibuses mean you can experience activities such as canoeing\, caving\, climbing\, gorge walking\, fell walking\, night hikes and local visits. On site\, there’s an indoor cave system\, orienteering\, abseiling\, cycling\, campfire\, bushcraft\, star gazing\, zip wire\, tube slide\, sensory room and swing\, disco\, and art and crafts.  \nDates and cost \nDates: Two nights from Friday 31st October (arriving by 4pm) to Sunday 2nd November (leaving at 3pm).  \nCost: £60 per person (payment to be organised through our Director of Services\, Nina Rose\, after booking). \nIncluded  \nAll food and pre-booked activities are included. We will confirm the booked activities taking place during the stay closer to the time. \nThe on-site facilities are fully wheelchair accessible\, including accessible showers\, toilets and electric beds.  \nUnder 18s and care support \nUnder-18’s will need to be accompanied by an adult\, and anyone requiring care support will need to bring a carer along.  \nBook your place \nSpaces are currently full for this event. DESCRIPTION:Our Chat Away group for adults living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus meets every other week around South Yorkshire. It’s a great way to get out and about with others and members can build lasting friendships. We’ll organise the logistics\, you just turn up and have a good time! \nChat Away at the World Snooker Qualifiers 2026 \nJoin us on Friday 10th April\, where we’ll be heading down to watch the World Snooker Qualifiers at the English Institute of Sport\, Sheffield. The event is free for our members and you’re welcome to bring along a friend\, family member and/or support worker. SUMMARY:Park Up and Play at Gully Town Tots
DESCRIPTION:Park Up and Play is our parent/carer and toddler group for families living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. Come along and meet other local families who are learning to live and thrive with the conditions. The whole family is welcome – siblings and grandparents included! We’re a friendly bunch and love to welcome new faces. We meet every week in term-time\, in locations suggested by our members. \nOur next trip will be to Gully Town Tots on Thursday 16th April from 9:30am – 11:30pm. Gully Town Tots is a fun indoor play session specially designed for under 5’s in the soft play at Gulliver’s Valley near Rother Valley. \n\nWe always advise you bring a picnic lunch to keep the tots going!\n\n\nBook your place: If you would like to join us\, please fill in this booking form so we know numbers and whether you need any additional support.
