DESCRIPTION:SHASBAH members and friends are invited to a special conference\, organised by our friends at North & West Yorkshire ASBAH. \nThe day will be a great opportunity to meet people with spina bifida and hydrocephalus from across Yorkshire. There will also be helpful workshops on the topics of: \n\nPIP and DLA forms\nEducation support\nContinence care\nPressure ulcer prevention and care\n\nLunch\, coffee and activities for kids will also be provided. It will be a great\, social day out as well as a chance to get practical support in navigating the world of spina bifida and hydrocephalus. \nThe conference is on Sunday 16th October from 10-4pm at Hollins Hall Hotel\, Shipley\, BD17 7QW. DESCRIPTION:Barnsley Inclusive Playgroup is our monthly group for our young members and their parents or carers who are local to Barnsley. This session is brand new for 2022! We’re excited to bring our services closer to families in this area of South Yorkshire. \nWe have a welcoming space for kids to have lots of fun\, meaning that parents can meet and chat with each other. Entry is free and a hot drink is provided. Siblings are welcome to join us too. \nOur friendly team set up and run plenty of activities\, including books\, sensory fun\, toys and music. The children have a great time and it’s a great opportunity to connect with other parents/carers who are in a similar situation. We meet every week\, so you can really build lasting relationships. Our team members also have personal experience of children with additional needs\, making it a unique and helpful local group. \nOur venues are excellent and easily accessible. We alternate between two family centres\, so make sure to check the location for each week. We hope to see you at our NEW Barnsley inclusive playgroup!

DESCRIPTION:Park Up and Play is our outdoor play group for parents and children. Join us for the first get together after the summer. You’ll meet other local families who are learning to live and thrive with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. We gather every week in a park around Sheffield and the surrounding area\, to chat\, catch up\, share stories and advice and get a breath of fresh air together. \nWe’re a friendly bunch and love to welcome new faces. We’ll go to a different park each week\, depending on the requests of the group. This might be the group for you if you struggle to get to North Sheffield for our other events\, because the location will vary. We’re excited to bring our services closer to families in this area of South Yorkshire. \nWe have a welcoming space for kids to have lots of fun\, meaning that parents can meet and chat with each other. Entry is free and a hot drink is provided. Siblings are welcome to join us too. \nOur friendly team set up and run plenty of activities\, including books\, sensory fun\, toys and music. The children have a great time and it’s a great opportunity to connect with other parents/carers who are in a similar situation. We meet every week\, so you can really build lasting relationships. Our team members also have personal experience of children with additional needs\, making it a unique and helpful local group. \nOur venues are  excellent and easily accessible. DESCRIPTION:We’re having an end-of-summer BBQ for our teens and young adults! Come along and meet other young people who have spina bifida or hydrocephalus. We’ll have a fun\, chill afternoon of catching up and getting to know each other better.
