SHASBAH has an active and thriving community in the Sheffield area. Our members, friends and volunteers provide all types of support in the ups and downs of living with lifelong conditions. The aim we all share is to help everyone with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus get the most out of life.
Whether you are living with Spina bifida or hydrocephalus, you care for someone with the conditions or you simply believe in our mission, there’s a place in SHASBAH for you!
Where do I fit in?
Become a member
In order to become a SHASBAH member, you must:
- have Spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus
- live in the Sheffield postal district
We offer our full package of support to our members, which includes:
- Regular social events to reduce isolation
- One to one befriending support and independence training
- Specialist advice and guidance on care, treatment, education and housing
- Small-scale financial aid for specific needs
- Regular communication about relevant news and information
We’d love to be able to support you as fully as possible, so please apply for membership if you are eligible!
Become a friend
If you have spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus but don’t live in the Sheffield postal district, we would love to have you join us as a friend of SHASBAH.
SHASBAH friends are warmly invited to join us at our events. You will also receive our communication about relevant news and information.
Become a volunteer
If you don’t have spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus but you believe in our mission to help everyone get the most out of life, then why not become a SHASBAH volunteer?
