As part of our membership activities, we have accessible canal boat trips with the wonderful Ethel and Pearl barges, belonging to the Ethel Trust Community Barges. There is no cost for our members and their loved ones to book on, and family members and support workers are more than welcome to join in!

This Friday 15th May is your chance to go on the Ethel Barge. It’s a wonderfully unique way to see South Yorkshire, and you can also enjoy meeting other members.

Our day out will start at Victoria Quays in Sheffield, then we’ll head on an adventure through the beautiful canals of South Yorkshire. A picnic lunch and refreshments will be provided. Trained volunteers skipper the Pearl Barge, who have experience working with a diverse range of needs. There are lifts at the front and rear for accessing the canal boat, as well as accessible toilets on board.
