5 Seasonal Things To Do in Sheffield This Autumn

The temperature is cooling down and pumpkins are all over the supermarkets again. It must be autumn! Get into the spirit of the season with our round up of things to do in Sheffield over the next few months.

1. Bake an apple crumble to share with a friend

First of all, the colder months are all about tasty food and drinks. September brings The Great British Bake Off back to our screens, which is a great excuse to have a friend over and eat some baked goods.

In our opinion, there’s nothing like a lovely, hot crumble to make you feel autumnal. It’s a dish that’s suitable for beginner and expert bakers alike. Here’s a simple Jamie Oliver recipe to try.

2. Browse the artwork at Sheffield Print Fair

One thing that Sheffield has in abundance is small businesses and artists. Sheffield Print Fair is a chance to see loads of them in one place. Taking place on Saturday 12th November at Millenium Gallery, there will be stalls to browse through and workshops to take part in. Sounds perfect for some early Christmas shopping!

3. Go to a Rugby League World Cup match

We’ve been spoilt for big sporting fixtures this year. First, the Women’s Euros and now the Rugby League World Cup is coming to town!

Tickets are available for Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair matches at venues across the North of England, including Doncaster and Sheffield. The tournament starts on 15th October.

4. Have a pint at Steel City Beer & Cider Festival

After two years off, the Steel City Beer & Cider Festival is returning to Kelham Island. It’s a proper festival with live music, bookshop and pub games, as well as top quality drinks to suit every taste.

There are plenty of events and talks planned throughout the week. Get your sen down to Kelham Island from 19th-22nd October! Follow their Facebook page for lots of information and updates.

5. Design a SHASBAH Christmas Card

Every year, we sell a special pack of SHASBAH Christmas cards. It’s a great little fundraiser and helps spread awareness of our charity. This year, we’d love for our members to get involved in the design process.

Download and print the template sheet below and create a colourful, Christmassy scene. You could paint, draw or even collage. Send us your finished design and if we choose to use it, we’ll send you a £15 Amazon voucher as a big thank you! The deadline for entries is 30th October.
