All About Hydrocephalus and Your Brain
It’s Brain Awareness Week! Our brains are amazing and very complicated. They are responsible for thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and sending messages to all the other parts of the body. They allow us to remember things, smell things, taste things and hear things. How cool is that?

Some brains work differently to how we expect. Many members of our charity have hydrocephalus, which is a condition that affects the brain. People who have hydrocephalus can find some things difficult, such as concentration, remembering and coordination. Click here to find a video about what it’s like to have hydrocephalus.
Many people with hydrocephalus will have had brain surgery to insert a shunt. This treatment is an amazing technology which was developed by doctors and scientists.
