5 Fun Things To Do in September
The summer holidays are over and the kids are back to school, but don’t worry! The fun isn’t over. There are even more fun things going on around Sheffield in September. Get your diaries out, because you don’t want to miss these…
1. Enjoy the Sheffield Showcase (2nd-5th)
The Sheffield Showcase is going to be a fabulous celebration of our local culture. Featuring all kinds of entertainment, from classical music performances in the Winter Gardens, to history walks with a local expert, to the “Rubbish Shakespeare Company”. There’s something for everyone and it promises to be a one-off experience that will make you proud of our city. Check out the full programme here.
2. Check out some Art in the Gardens (4th-5th)
Art in the Gardens is an annual arts and craft event, held in the beautiful Sheffield Botanical Gardens. There will be plenty of exhibitions and displays, as well as opportunities to buy pieces for yourself. Entry is £5 and tickets are available online here.
3. Visit the Sheffield Harvest Fayre (18th-19th)
Sheffield Harvest Fayre is a new event this year, taking place in Sheffield City Centre. Organised by the team behind Sheffield Food Festival, it will be a showcase of our incredible local food producers and street food stalls. A perfect way to spend your weekend, whether with family or friends.
4. Come to the SHASBAH Base Opening Party! (25th)
The best thing you could do in Sheffield in September is come to our base-opening party! (We might be biased…) We’ve been waiting a long time for this party because it was originally planned for September 2020. Better late than never, so we’re going to celebrate in style at the Burton Street Foundation. Come and enjoy a cream tea, hot drinks, face painting and a visit from a very special guest. More details will follow – keep your eye out on our Facebook page.
5. Cheer the runners on in the Sheffield Half Marathon (26th)
Sheffield Half Marathon is setting off from Arundel Gate at 9am on the 26th September. Whether you know someone running it or not, why not get yourself down to the route and give those runners a boost? It’s a great way to feel part of the community and something a little different to do with your Sunday morning. You never know, you might be inspired to sign up and run for SHASBAH next year!
Additionally, have a look at our upcoming events page for details about our regular, weekly groups. These are restarting next week after a break over the summer. We’d love to see you there.
